The course aims for Starfish (Sjöstjärna).
The aims of the course are for the child to swim independently, with their face in the water, a distance of approx. 1.5 meters toward a mat, the pool edge, the steps, or to an adult. The child learns to wait for a signal before jumping from a mat, the edge, or the steps. The child floats on their back with assistance, while the focus remains on leg kicks-technique and the finding the correct swim position. It may be necessary to repeat the "Penguin" course until the child is is ready for the next course level. An adult must always accompany the child in the water; two adults are permitted to participate in the "Penguin" course.
